What is the difference between GLB and STL?

GLB is the binary form of glTF. It holds meshes plus materials, textures, a scene hierarchy and sometimes animation, and it is what most AI 3D tools and web viewers use. STL stores only the triangles of a surface, which makes it the simplest format for 3D printing and the one almost every slicer accepts.

Are colours and textures kept when I convert GLB to STL?

No. STL has no colour or texture data, so GLB to STL keeps only the geometry. For a multi-colour print, paint the model in your slicer; if you need the textures later, keep the original GLB.

What units does the STL use?

STL stores plain numbers with no unit, and most slicers read them as millimetres. GLB uses metres, so after a plain GLB to STL conversion a model 1 unit tall can show up as 1 mm. Pick Fit longest side to 100 or Metres → millimetres under Scale and check the size panel.

After GLB to STL, open the file in your slicer (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Cura or similar), check the size and orientation, add supports where needed, then slice and print. AI-generated models often have an uneven bottom; cutting a flat base in the slicer helps.
